Galveston 1900 Hurricane Memorial

In the center of the dark circle is a monument along the seawall depicting a man holding his wife and child as the water rises. After Rita, people placed flowers and signs at the statue thanking the powers that be for sparing the city this time. Be sure to click on the link to see the haunting statue.
